Dan Young
Dan began his music career at the age of ten. He instantly amazed his
teachers with his natural ability to hear and play music. He was raised with a
wide variety of musical and cultural influences. This enhanced his ability to
interpret many types of music and play in just about any musical venue.Although he studied astrophysics in college, he continued to play saxophone
in his spare time. He attended Arizona State University for four and a half
years while working full time and playing in bands whenever able. He was only
one semester away from a Bachelors in Science in Physics and Astronomy when he
decided that he could no longer give his passion for music second chair. In 1993
he left the program at ASU and began working at Home Depot full time so he could
have more time for music. He began doing studio work for other musicians and
discovered that he deeply enjoyed studio performance. He decided to produce his
own demo.The demo was well received by all who know Dan’s musical abilities. He
played at several clubs and on TV. He soon received a call from a man who wanted
to produce an album for Dan. Dan maintained hope that this opportunity would
come into fruition. After several years of waiting he decided he could wait no
longer. By this time, he was married and planning for the birth of his first
child. He had to take a chance. He developed a vision to form his own production
company and the first project would be his own.He began production in 1999 and traded his talents for studio time. He made
the best of what time he was granted in the studio and completed recording in
the Summer of 2000. His first album, Image of You, was released October 5th 2000. CD sales have been greater than anticipated. Everyone who has known Dan
over the years has been waiting for this release.He put together a band of five musicians, including himself. The band debuted
his first album in live performance on October 13, 2000. Dan Young performs
around the country with tracks or his band, Forecast. Dan
and his band are available for booking or Dan can be booked by himself with
track accompaniment.
Dan looks forward to building his production company, Run Young One
Productions, Inc. In the future he plans to produce more of his own projects as
well as that of other aspiring musicians.
